To assure test results used for quality control, verification, dispute resolution and acceptance of asphalt pavements are performed in accordance with the standard test methods.

To assure personnel responsible for inspecting asphalt pavement construction (paving and compaction) are familiar with FDOT specification requirements, good construction practices and equipment operation necessary to place and compact a Superpave mixture which will meet requirements for smoothness, texture, density, cross slope and thickness.

To ensure all test results used for quality control, verification, dispute resolution and acceptance of asphalt mix are performed in accordance with standard test methods, so the test results reflect the actual characteristics of the asphalt mixtures and specification requirements are met.

To assure personnel operating or inspecting an asphalt production operation (at a plant), are familiar with FDOT specification requirements, good materials management, and equipment operation necessary to produce a superpave mixture which will meet the mix design criteria and mix production requirements.

To provide students the basic knowledge, understanding and skills to perform as an Auger Cast Pile Inspector on FDOT construction projects for Bridges and Miscellaneous structure foundations.

To assure job site concrete tests including quality control, quality assurance, verification, and dispute resolution tests for concrete construction, used as part of the acceptance program are performed in accordance with the Standard Test Methods, project specifications and other contract documents.

To prepare the inspector to monitor and document drilled shaft operations resulting in safe foundation installation per the Contract Documents.

To safely and effectively sample soil materials from the roadway, take earthwork density readings and record those findings in an FDOT Density Log Book.

To provide Trainees with the instruction and skills required for applying the various Standards and Specifications associated with earthwork testing and the proper recording and tracking of those test results in the FDOT Density Log Book.

This is NOT an approved CTQP Class. Ensure that field personnel are familiar with activities necessary to provide proper measurements, computations, documentation and submission of the Final Estimate.

To provide standard policies, procedures and common practices necessary to produce progress and final payment, timely and accurately.

To prepare the inspector to monitor and document pile driving operations resulting in safe foundation installation per the Contract Documents.

To ensure the Contractor's Quality Control Managers, as well as key Department personnel, gain a working understanding of the key program elements.
